Friday, May 9, morning, arrival in Rome
Travel by private coach from Fiumicino airport to the ancient Etruscan town of Tuscania (approx. one hour). Your afternoon is free so you can settle in, relax, or sketch. Evening brings a welcome dinner and night at Hotel Convento di San Francesco.
Saturday, May 10, late morning, departure for Tarquinia
Visit Etruscan Archeological Museum and tombs. Afternoon departure for Tuscania to visit Romanesque churches of San Pietro and Santa Maria Maggiore. Dinner and night at Hotel Convento di San Francesco.
Sunday, May 11, morning free to sketch and explore town of Tuscania
Late morning departure for Viterbo to visit medieval section of the city. Afternoon departure for Civita Castellana to stop at Bagnaia to visit and sketch magnificent Renaissance gardens of Villa Lante. Dinner at Hotel Convento di San Francesco.
Monday, May 12 – Friday, May 16, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Drawing or Pastel Classes
Stay at Relais Pian di Vico, a villa in the countryside (a 10-minute drive from Tuscania). Optional afternoon activities include a cooking class, a visit to the Farnese Palace at Capranola, an excursion to the Sacred Wood at Bonmarzo and an afternoon in the town of Marta on Lago di Bolsena.
Saturday, May 17, morning, departure for Lake Bolsena
Boat ride on Lake Bolsena, lunch and opportunity to sketch at the lakeside town of Capodimonte. Arrivederci Etruria dinner at Relais Pian di Vico.
Sunday, May 18, morning departure from Relais Pian di Vico
